Wow, February went by like a blip. Not the best reading or film month (eight books, four films) - mostly graphic novels and kidlit with the former - but dang it, had February been a full 30/31 days, the numbers would have been different; am more than halfway through three novels I am genuinely enjoying, all of which would have been done with a couple more days' grace!
Rant aside, some good quality in February; I always enjoy the shenanigans of the Wolf in Underpants, and Big Nate collections remain funny as always. Made a new friend in Ghoulia, a zombie girl who only wants friends and to have fun; this was book one, and I look forward to more of her adventures. For graphic novels, Grimoire Noir is rich and darkly beautiful from cover to cover, with Snapdragon being my first 5-star graphic novel of 2021; all the right feels with that girl! Also loved my second adventure with Amy Wu, whose energy and upbeat spirit are always so contagious!
Films varied, but happy to add another, well-done Andy Lau film to what I've watched of his resume via Blind Detective, and my other Asian Cinema watch - The Bridge Curse - was almost too twisty with its plot but a lot of fun, as many times with scary movies from Asia, those "Ah-hah!" moments both exciting and enlightening. With Ghosts of War ... well, I can't wait to write that review. If you watch it in the meantime, please do yourself a favor and stop twenty minutes from the end. Just ... stop. You're welcome.
Here's a surprise - way behind on reviews! But with March actually freaking HAVING 31 days in it, I promise to try and do better starting this month.
Meanwhile: Spring, where are you??
